Festive embroidery workshop in London with artist Katie Wells. Your ticket includes all materials as well as a drink from the bar so come along and unwind at a festive evening of stitching.
During this two hour embroidery workshop in London we’ll be working on a the night sky embroidery pattern shown in the pictures. You’ll learn all the basics of embroidery – from threading your needle to finishing the back of your embroidery piece. You’ll also pick up lots of tips and tricks to start you on your embroidery journey.
Throughout the class you’ll get to work with three different types of embroidery thread, and you’ll learn the following stitches:
- Outline Stitch
- Chain Stitch
- French Knot
- Straight Stitch
- Seed Stitch
- Whip Stitch
The embroidery workshop includes the following materials, which you’ll take home with you so you can finish your piece at your leisure:
- Elbessee 6 Inch beechwood embroidery hoop Organic Half panama fabric made from 100% certified organic cotton, printed in the UK.
- DMC Stranded Cotton Thread 648
- DMC Diamant Grand Thread G225
- 2 x Polished steel embroidery needles size 7
- DMC Pearl Cotton Thread small – 8 Blanc
- Instruction booklet
- Blue chiffon ribbon to hang your finished embroidery
- Black felt backing
All materials used in the class have been sourced as close to home as possible, with their environmental impact in mind.
The workshop is suitable for complete beginners as well as those looking to brush up on their skills. It’s a very casual, relaxed atmosphere with plenty of time to chat and get to know each other. And it goes without saying that the workshop is a no judgement zone so please do not worry if you have no crafting experience!
This embroidery workshop is not suitable for children. Class size will be no more than 10.
